“Raids in the Eastfjords by the ‘Turks’; they seized a merchant vessel at Djúpivogur in Berufjörður along with all its goods, and they also plundered livestock and people around Berufjörður and along the Berufjörður coast. They drove livestock and people to the ships, killed men, and also hacked and hewed them to pieces. Thus has the learned man Kláns Eyjólfsson written about it: that they killed nine men there and took one hundred and ten.” (Annálar I, 3, 1924:228)
